The repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) has been achieved! Both Houses of the United States Congress have passed the legislation, and it is now on its way to President Biden’s desk. We are proud to share that the President has committed to signing this bill into law. This historic milestone will bring long-overdue relief to countless current and future public workers across the nation.
This achievement would not have been possible without the steadfast dedication and tireless efforts of our members. Your unwavering support and relentless advocacy were the driving forces behind this success. 12/16/24 - CWA Local 2222 Dear Members, when the election committee mailed out the merger ballots the return by date was not included with the instructions. The return by date is December 27, 2024. This means we must receive all ballots by December 27th. We apologize for any confusion. 12/11/24 - Teamsters Local 776 As disaster relief efforts continued after Hurricanes Helena and Milton, Local 776 was again contacted to provide transport for a shipment of humanitarian aid to the affected region. Pam Hess from the PA Turnpike Commission contacted the Local Union after they collected 15 skids of goods and food for the people of North Carolina. |
